Long-distance move from Oak Harbor, WA to Elko, NV

Run the other way

After waiting 2 weeks for a driver to be assigned and numerous phone calls and emails unreturned. I finally got a hold of a customer service rep with a terrible attitude. Basically told me the car would be picked up when it got picked up and I should be happy. Customer service is not in this business's vocabulary. Use anybody other than them.

Scammers

This company lies to customers. They tell clients over the phone that they have a carrier and meanwhile it just sits on some national load board not moving. Scammed Grandma and Grandpa telling them it will cost $2500 to ship their cars to NY and then posted the cars for $1750.00. The cars never moved because they were trying to get an $800.00 broker FEE. Ended up finding another company Enterprise Auto Transport to ship the cars for $2500 total. STAY AWAY.

Phenomenal experience

I was in a pinch last month in order to get my car shipped from Santa Fe, New Mexico to Los Angeles by Thanksgiving. I called RoadRunner with only nine days notice and they made it happen. Very concise and helpful through the whole process. My Chevy was picked up and delivered on the exact days they said and i even got a call from the driver both times to give me an hour's heads up. I'm absolutely going to use them in the future if I need to ship my car again.

CHEATS!

CHEATS! NOT TO BE TRUSTED. Expect a 25% increase at the last minute. We had a quote to ship a pick-up truck. Heard nothing for several days. Then late in the day before we were moving they call to say they can have someone there that day BUT, the rate is going up 25%.

They ask if I still wanted the truck picked up. I had no choice. I asked "do I have a choice?" to which they said 'NO'.

With the increase, they went from being competitive to the most expensive option available. I would NEVER use them again and would tell anyone to STAY AWAY.

Long-distance move from Maryland to Florida

Scam!! Do not use.

I had a terrible experience. I spoke with Sean Brady to arrange the shipment of my elderly father's vehicle to me. Sean knew my father needed to have a time and date arranged and confirmed due to his poor health. Sean promised me 10am on June 9th. I repeatedly asked if this time and day would be for sure, he always replied yes. I booked the shipment. On June 8th I still hadn't recieved confirmation so I called. Sean would not answer my calls or emails. I called customer service and they said the date was not guaranteed. So I cancelled.

They charged me $135. I called to ask why since they had broken the verbal contract which I also had an email from Sean as proof. The girl became angry and told me they fight with their customers all the time and win because the written contract says you get charged if you cancel. She told me they welcomed the fight.

I have continued to call and email Sean to see if he would help, but he won't return my calls or emails. In fact, since I paid he hasn't. Im certain this is a tactic they train to. Lie to the customer until they pay then ignore them. Just look at Google reviews. Im hardly the first.

Ive opened a BBB case and they did in fact respond with the written contract and will not honor the verbal or email one I had with Sean.

I am an active duty military member with a family of 4, so $135 means alot to me. It means nothing to them unless this is a tactic they rely on for income because no carrier was ever assigned, no time was lost, so they had no expenses. They simply train and employ tactics to rob people of their hard earned money.

Because so many military use car transport companies I feel it is my duty to ensure this company stops. I will seek council from lawyers in the military system and explore government channels to have the blacklisted. I will devote both on duty and off duty time until I feel this company has changed their practices. I will post this story on every platform available.

Your representative wanted a fight, but my fight isn't against Roadrunner my fight is for those who can't fight for themselves. I will attempt to protect the vulnerable against this scam.

Scam. Terrible company

This company is a total joke. They don't answer the phone nor do they provide any customer service after they've booked you. You will really regret using them. I was forced to sell my car since they left me high and dry and did not complete their part of the agreement and pickup on or around my departure date. I really wish I would have done more research on this company instead of finding out the hard way. Just glad I was able to cancel before these scumbags charged my credit card. Which by the way I subsequently cancelled just in case they charged out of spite. Roadrunner is going to eventually run out of people to scam and hopefully go out of business for the betterment of society.

If you like bad service, use Road Runner

If you like deliveries that are days late, drivers that "ghost" you (despite a $50 advance tip) inability to speak with customer service at road runner, ("due to unusually high call volumes", no voice mail, and disconnection, unresponsive to text, unresponsive to Email).......use this firm. Once they have your money and your car they could care less. I could "ping" the location of the car, they lie about where your car is. The way I forced communication/delivery was by setting a deadline for delivery. If the deadline was missed again I would turn it over to police as stolen. I had the license number of the tractor, trailer and pictures. License plate readers in FL would have found stopped the missing truck. I was quickly "unghosted" and delivery occurred within 18 hours

Terrible Customer Service.

RoadRunner was terrible! Do NOT work with these guys. I did my due diligence in researching diff. companies for transporting a vehicle from MA to CA. My job is reimbursing me & required I get at least 3 quotes. RoadRunner was the ONLY co. that required credit card info upfront. Their tactic is to treat your quote as a booking, and then aggressively try and get you to commit. When I politely let them know I no longer required their services, Zach Asher sent me an insulting email and called me directly to scold, condescend, and insult me and my "useless" research, basically saying I was making a mistake, had no idea how the business worked, and that I'd be crawling back to him and RR to transport my car. Go with Sherpa!

Auto shipping.

Roadrunner Auto shipping is a horrible company with piss poor customer service, with Karla being the exception. They will treat you great up until you book a shipment and then you are Crap. Sean is one of the worst and never returns your call once booked and doesn’t give a crap about your shipment. Their drivers are even worse. They don’t speak English, have blocked cellphones and are never on time. It’s been 7 days past my expected delivery date and I’ve had to report the vehicle as stolen. Save yourself a lot of heartache and money, ship with anyone else.

The Customer is not King at Road Runner Auto Transport.

I booked an auto transport with this Broker. After booking I started seeing their horrible review everywhere and decided to cancel. I cancelled my booking within 4 hours.

Because they did not find a carrier for my yet, I assumed that they would not charge me a cancellation fee. They did however charge me a cancellation fee.

I decided to call the cancellation department to inquire about the fee, and was greeted by a very defensive employee who kept referring me to their policy. Their policy is 5 pages long. I am no lawyer and no expert in the kind of legal speak that their policy consists off. But according to the very confident person on the other end of the line, their policy clearly states that I would have to pay $135.

It would have been nice if this company would treat their customers better and have a policy that states that no pay is required if no service is rendered.

Customer is King? Not at Road Runner Auto Transport.

Stole $135 from us - "cancellation fee." Had scheduled transport of car. Carrier had not yet been assigned, & cancellation was made more than 30 days out. Had to sell said car due to COVID -19. Where is the driver, where is the service?

Was taken in by the website after a Google search. The service was great up to the point of taking a credit card, and so called assigning a driver. The driver was a no show, the service was non-responsive after calls, texts, and emails. Not sure what comes next, and hope something will change my mind for the better, but after digging deeper into reviews, not all that hopefull..

Scammed for a better time frame.

I would not recommend using Roadrunner Auto Transportation to anyone that I know and anyone I don't know. Save yourself the headache and do not use this brokerage firm.

They sell you a service and offer different levels of packages with delivery time frames, but in reality to them it does not matter. In their service agreement they have a clause that will bite you in the butt. They are not responsible for any delays even if you pay for a better package. Their customer service was unresponsive.

Overall, I had a terrible experience using this company, and it might have been the carrier they chose, but for your own wallets sake, do not pay additional costs with them and look for the carries yourself. You will be scammed.

Do not use this company!

Bad bad bad! We spent a total of something like 6 hours on hold on the phone (they hung up on us countless countless times) while trying to sort out shipping details. They got us by saying they found a driver in a timely manner. That driver cancelled and, then, we had to wait a long time. They had our money and yet we could not get through to communicate with them. There are much better shippers. Don’t use this one!

Avoid at All Costs.

I'll just echo what has already been adequately covered here: AVOID THIS OUTFIT. They gave a two hour window for pick up, and four hours PAST the last pick up time I still had no update. Then, just as I was on the phone to cancel, someone drives down my driveway in a beat up Bronco pulling a trailer. What?? I had specifically told them on the phone and in writing NOT to bring the trailer down the driveway because there is nowhere to turn around. But if I had seen the beat up piece of crap they expected me to let them load my Rolls-Royce into, it wouldn't have mattered. Customer service on the phone: useless and uninterested.

Avoid. Run the other way.

Please save yourself the trouble and find someone else. I had a problem with my shipment. Could not reach anyone at the main phone number and when they called back, the agent was clearly annoyed that (in his words) I was wasting his time. He only reiterated Roadrunner policy and claimed that they were not liable for anything that occurred during shipment. He said it was up to be to coordinate the whole auto shipment myself and that they had no obligation to help me solve my problem. Beware, once they take your money, they’ll brush you off and could not care less about you. Hands down the worst customer service I’ve ever talked to. I was only moderately annoyed at the problem that occurred during transport, but how they handled the whole thing made me furious. Find someone else - anyone else - no one deserves to be treated the way that they treated me.

Do not use them

Mary Comeaux Odell This company is an absolute joke. I bought a vehicle as a gift for my wife, I needed the vehicle here on July 10. I placed the order July 6. I was promised that it would not be a problem. As of July 8, they still didn't have a carrier assigned. I called and chatted multiple times and they assured me there was plenty of time.

On July 9, we got a text saying it would be picked up that day and they would call 2 hours in advance.

I called at 5 PM to let them know that we still haven't received a call, they said not to worry that they work until 10PM and Carriers until 9Pm.

Well at 7PM I called, attempted to chat and NO ONE was available.

Left numerous messages and no response.

Today is July 10, the car is not here and they still have no answer. Only today, they are now on limited staff and have no solutions, yet they charged my credit card yesterday.

Avoid this company at all cost, absolute garbage. Customer support is full of crap and will tell you anything to get you off the phone. Their sales reps are full of lies.

I will be filing a dispute with my bank, they will be reported to BBB and they will be blasted on every social media and blog site related to their business.

My Experience

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE! Let me start out by saying we did receive our cars in fine condition, however that's the only good thing I have to say about this service. They were unprofessional and shady, not to mention that they did not call before coming to pick up the cars like they said they would. They arrived several days early at our destination. They said it would arrive in roughly two weeks. It arrived in 3 days. This might sound like a good thing, but it's not. Since they only take cash or check we had to scramble to get someone out there to pay him. And it doesn't end there. When we payed them they tried to cash our check twice. Not to mention that when we tried to contact them about this they put us on hold then just hung up. I will personally never use this service ever again.

UNRELIABLE MOVERS

First of all, I finally did get my car successfully transported with Road Runner, but it took an extra 5 days and a lot of aggravation to make the connection and receive my car.

We were moving across the country and booked Road Runner transport 2-months in advance. We booked in advance because the Booking Agent told me that the earlier you book, the more time RR has to secure a transport and guarantee the date and time of pick up. This is not true. The Agent over promised and under delivered on the contract. Road Runner did not contact me before or the day of the move to let me know they did not have a transport confirmed. In fact, after RR got my payment, they never reached out to confirm any details of the transport. After repeated outreach on my part (unanswered & unreturned phone calls and emails), I cancelled my original order and had to relocate my car over 800 miles away to my daughters house. From there we were finally able to make a successful transportation connection.

The lack of communication and follow through with RR is incredibly frustrating.

Here are some Buyer Beware issues if you are using RR:

Even though the Booking Agent may guarantee that they will pick your car up on a specific date, they may not. Do not plan your trip around Road Runner’s scheduled date, as they will often have delays or may not even show.

Do not believe the promise that if you book early, you will receive the date and time of a scheduled pick up or delivery. Road Runner operates on an hourly scheduling basis and CAN NOT guarantee any pick up or drop off time.

Road Runner has a terrible phone system. They will answer new booking calls, but often will not answer customer inquiry calls or the status of a upcoming booking. I tired to call over a dozen times and was able to connect only once. They use and e-mail messaging system, saying they will return your message. In the 4-times I used it, Road Runner NEVER returned a message inquiry. Make sure you have your Booking Agent’s phone number, e-mail and contact info, because it’s may be the only way to communicate with a live person.

The “Live Chat” feature RR uses is adequate. The employees who staff the “Live Chat” are pleasant, but have limited info to provide you. Do not expect to get much out of them except - “we are still waiting for dispatch to assign you a carrier.”

If you want to speak to a supervisor, it will not happen. I asked repeatedly over the course of 5 days to speak to a supervisor, but apparently none were ever available.

If you are a planner and expect a company to honor their commitments, Road Runner is not your company. They will over promise and under deliver.

We would NOT RECOMMEND this company.

DO NOT I REPEAT

DO NOT ! I don’t not recommend no one to use this company to ship their car. I was moving my car from Kansas to California. I asked them to pick it up on June 8th, they told me yes turns out they didn’t pick it up until Saturday June 11th. In between June 8th and June 11th did I receive a call or email saying we are going to be a little behind we will come pick your car up as soon as possible. I had to call every single day and figure out when they going to come pick up my car. On June 11th they finally came around 2 in the afternoon. When I booked for them to pick up my car, I said I want y’all to pick it up on the 8th and they told me we will have it to you on the 14th. Which was perfect because I get on the plane the 14th. So they were already late picking it up and I should of known they were going to be late dropping it off. I get off the plane I’m calling the driver they are not answering the phone and when they do answer they tell me to text the phone because there are busy. I didn’t get my car until the 16th around 1 in the afternoon. If I could rate with zero stars I would.

Horrible company

I had a terrible experience with road runners. Worse company to ever exist.

I wish there was an option for -100 stars. This is by far the worse company to exist in the USA.

I cannot emphasize enough how utterly horrendous my experience with RoadRunner Auto Transport has been. This company's incompetence and complete lack of professionalism have left me flabbergasted and infuriated.

I initially hired them to transport my car from New York to Florida, and that's when my ordeal began. They failed to pick up my car on the agreed-upon date, leaving me stranded and anxious. What's worse is that they still haven't managed to pick up my car or deliver it to its destination, despite their promises.

Attempting to contact this company is an exercise in futility. Phone calls go unanswered, and if by some miracle you get through, you're subjected to an eternity on hold before eventually having to hang up on yourself due to frustration and lack of patience. Emails are equally ignored, as if my concerns and inquiries don't even matter to them.

When I finally managed to get someone from the company on the phone, they had the audacity to inform me that my car was ready for pickup but required an additional payment of $300 to $400 beyond the original quote. This blatant attempt at price gouging left me dumbfounded. When I expressed my dissatisfaction, the person on the other end of the line, presumably the owner, responded with an astounding level of rudeness. He callously stated, "Too bad for you, I'll cancel your order," before hanging up on me.

I implore anyone reading this review to steer clear of RoadRunner Auto Transportat all costs. This company is not only a broker of incompetence, but a prime example of how not to conduct business. Their false promises, lack of communication, and outright hostility toward customers make them a blight on the industry.

Even their hollow assurances of using reviews to improve ring hollow, as my experience only worsened after encountering them. Do not give RoadRunner Auto Transport the chance to deceive you into thinking they'll improve. They are a disgraceful excuse for a business, and it would be a grave mistake to consider entrusting them with your transportation needs.

Save yourself the headache, stress, and undoubtedly wasted money by avoiding RoadRunner Auto Transport. Their actions are not only unacceptable but border on deceitful and dishonest. In my opinion, engaging with them would be nothing short of a regrettable and costly mistake. YOU’VE BEEN WARNED.
